The procedure to adopt an animal from the shelter is as follows:

1. Suitability check of the dog and the potential new owner by GASAH
2. Clarification by GASAH whether the potential new owner meets the legal husbandry requirements
3. If suitable, processing of adoption forms
4. Adoption of the animal

The procedure to adopt a stray animal from the street is as follows:

1. Reading of microchip by a veterinarian
2. If the animal is registered in the name of the municipality, contact GASAH and view steps 1 – 4 above
3. If the animal is not microchipped, you can proceed with the adoption. The veterinarian can microchip and register the animal in your name. Please note that you are legally obliged to sterilise and annually vaccinate your animal.
