I love volunteering at GASAH as it allows me to use my skills (registered veterinary nurse) with animals that need them the most. I believe in the ethos of GASAH and love that I can help make a difference.
During my time at GASAH I got a unique insight into what makes a professionally well-functioning animal welfare organization. I take so many great and unique impressions from Kos with animals, kind-hearted and animal-loving people and would not want to miss this time and experience in my life.
I stayed at GASAH for four weeks and had the greatest time! The work here with all the nice people and animals is fully rewarding and to see sick animals getting better day by day is such a heartwarming thing to witness. There are many things you can learn about animal welfare and animal behaviour. I also made many new friends from all over the world and hope to come back to this amazing place one time! Thank you for everything!
The brief time I have spent at Stepping Stone has taught me that animal welfare goes far beyond rehoming abandoned animals, as its main goal is making the animals life better!
I want to support GASAH to reduce the suffering and pain of the mistreated, sick and homeless animals on the Greek island Kos.
The teamwork at Stepping Stone is amazing and I'm sure together we are going to achieve a big change for the animals.
It's amazing to volunteer with such a lovely bunch of people while helping to improve the welfare of so many sick and injured animals here on Kos.
Being able to put my skills and knowledge to use in a different country where proper animal care and education is lacking has been a worthy challenge. And I’ve loved every step of the process. Not only is caring for these animals under GASAH’s care at Stepping stone and offsite throughout the island of Kos a huge privilege but I cannot brag enough about the wonderful team I have the pleasure of working with.
I love caring for the animals and it is amazing to see how they recover and have a chance to live a better life through our help. It’s fun to work together with such a great team and make friends from all over the world while doing such important work.
My intention was to stay four weeks but I loved the atmosphere and the animals at Stepping Stone so much that I prolonged my stay by another three weeks. It has been an honour to work beside a great team. GASAH is really improving the animal welfare situation on Kos.
Can't wait to come back ...
I got to know a lot of new people from different countries and was able to educate myself in animal welfare, animal care and of course personally. It makes me more than happy to help the animals on the island of Kos and to improve the situation. It is really heartwarming to see how the animals are getting better from day to day!
I am very grateful to be part of this wonderful organisation!
I’ve worked with GASAH for 4 weeks and had the best time! I got to learn a lot about animal welfare and it was beautiful to see the sick and injured animals recover and give them the love and care they deserve.
We had an amazing team and I have made some valuable friendships with girls from all over the world!
I volunteered at GASAH for 3 months and during this time I learned a lot about myself, animals and the planet. It was a pleasure to give the animals on the island the love and care that they deserve and desperately need. It is amazing to see what the team can accomplish and I can’t wait to return and help again someday.
The compassion and love, which is shown here to each and every animal and person is one of a kind, heartfilling and gives hope for a brighter future for all.
I have deep compassion towards animals and desire to live within beautiful locations which is how I found myself at GASAH on Kos. GASAH is unique because not only am I caring for animals but I'm also living with a team of likeminded individuals who care just as much.
I worked at GASAH for 5 weeks and had a great time.
I learned a lot about animal welfare and about myself. What is special about GASAH is that they try to really improve the situation on the island and work with the local people to achieve a sustainable solution. I am very grateful for this experience and for being part of this special organisation!
To have Stepping Stone as the first stop of a longer journey feels like a gift. This place with its history, with the amazing people and animals touched my heart in many ways and gave me a huge bunch of inspiration. In two months I had the privilege to learn a lot - about animal welfare, human beings, social life, relationships, friendships and about myself.
Traveling to Kos for three months to work with GASAH for animal welfare was the best decision I made in a long time. It is wonderful how you put your heart and soul into helping the animals every day and always treat all creatures of our world with respect.
